Energized Boswellia serrata.Built to move with you.
An energized bioactive compound taken from Boswellia serrata gum, for joint-comfort and healthy inflammatory-response formulations, built around AKBA, one of the two most active boswellic acids.
60% boswellic acids,EASI™ energizedA standardized Indian frankincense resin extract, energized on the Greenspace EASI™ platform.
AKBA-QA™ (Boswellia serrata, Indian frankincense) draws on a gum resin used in Ayurveda for centuries to support comfortable joints and a balanced inflammatory response. Its boswellic acids, AKBA above all, act on several targets at once, yet they are highly fat-soluble and poorly soluble in water, which limits how much is absorbed.
How?
Quantum Ayurveda at Greenspace Herbs infuses select Ayurvedic ingredients with a controlled energy load, then locks that energy in a metastable form so it stays “primed” until it meets the body. AKBA-QA™ is an energized ingredient developed to address this issue. How it works →

Computational target profiling of KBA and AKBA from Boswellia serrata
A computational (in-silico) study profiled AKBA and its companion boswellic acid KBA from Boswellia serrata against 25 human protein targets in inflammatory-response, glucose-metabolism and nerve-signaling pathways, using molecular docking, statistical analysis and proteochemometric (machine-learning) modeling. In-silico work predicts how molecules bind; it does not measure effects in cells or people.
Summary of the docking scores
Inflammatory-response and joint targets
HDAC6, MMP-9, MAT-2A, 5-LOX, JAK1, GM-CSF −9.0 to −9.6 kcal/mol
AKBA docking scores read from Figure 2 of the paper. More negative means stronger predicted binding.

01
AKBA docked to all 25 protein targets studied, across two pathway groups, including underexplored targets such as HDAC6, TXNIP and GABA-A.
Proteochemometric models linked stronger docking to higher predicted potency, with R² of 0.91 to 0.94.

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of 3-acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid
AKBA’s three-dimensional structure, solved from a single crystal by the Greenspace Herbs phytochemistry team with university partners: a rigid pentacyclic framework with eleven stereogenic centers, linked by O–H···O hydrogen bonds into zigzag chains. Hirshfeld surface analysis shows H···H contacts at 91.5%, so van der Waals forces hold the crystal together.
The AKBA molecule, solved by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, with its atom numbering. Figure 1 of our published paper.Hirshfeld surfaces mapped over dnorm, (a) front and (b) side view; red regions mark short contacts between molecules. Figure 4 of our published paper.
Compared with other boswellic acids
Only a few boswellic acid crystal structures have been reported. AKBA shares their rigid pentacyclic backbone, with the same stereochemistry at the ring junctions (Figure 6 of the paper). The difference is at C3: AKBA’s acetyl group replaces the hydroxyl hydrogen-bond donor of β-boswellic acid with an ester carbonyl acceptor, which changes how the molecules bond to each other and pack in the crystal.
